FAQs

Can you transport a puppy to me?

Yes. There are many areas in the North Island where we may be able to deliver free of charge - please just ask. We can arrange delivery to the South Island via Pet Courier (at your cost). We have done this many times with great results.

Do the puppies under go vet checks?

All puppies will have had flea and worm treatment, their first round of vaccinations and have been vet checked before they leave us.

Can I come meet the puppies?

Absolutely! We wholeheartedly encourage you to come and meet our adorable puppies in person! Spending time with them will allow you to discover their unique personalities and energy levels, helping you find the perfect match for your family. This hands-on experience is invaluable as it not only allows you to connect with our furry friends but also gives you the opportunity to see their environment and the care they receive. We want to ensure that you feel confident and excited about your choice, so take your time to interact with the puppies, ask questions, and get to know them better. We’re here to support you in finding the perfect companion that fits seamlessly into your life!

What are your Terms and Conditions?

We require a $500 deposit to secure your new puppy with the balance payable upon pick up/delivery.

Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Golden Retrievers Waikato! Please read our Terms and Conditions, which accompany the microchip registration form. By completing this form, you provide your name, purchase details (including pricing and puppy information), and agree to the following terms:

  1. Health and Vet Check: Your new dog from Golden Retrievers Waikato has undergone a thorough vet check to ensure good health. Any health findings are detailed in the vet report, which informs the mutually agreed purchase price. Each puppy receives their first vaccination prior to collection. As the new owner, you are responsible for arranging any follow-up vaccinations at your own expense.

  2. Initial Health Check: We recommend that within 72 hours of taking your puppy home, you schedule a vet check-up at your expense to confirm the health of your new pet.

  3. Pet, Not Show or Breeding Quality: Your puppy is sold as a family pet, not for show or breeding purposes. We encourage desexing, as advised by your vet, to support responsible pet ownership. You agree to provide lifelong care, including regular veterinary care, proper grooming, parasite prevention, a safe and stimulating environment, and high-quality nutrition.

  4. Safety and Supervision: The buyer agrees to maintain a safe environment for the puppy, ensuring that the dog has proper fencing or supervision at all times.

  5. Post-Collection Responsibility: Golden Retrievers Waikato cannot assume liability for any injury to the puppy after it leaves our care, including during third-party transportation (road or air). The buyer is responsible for any Local Government Council Dog Registration fees as per local regulations.

  6. Health and Vaccinations: At collection, we will provide you with a copy of the final vet report outlining any health considerations. Golden Retrievers Waikato is not responsible for the puppy's health if subsequent vaccinations are not completed or if the puppy is exposed to potential hazards (e.g., parks, unvaccinated animals) before its vaccination schedule is complete.

  7. Limited Warranty: Golden Retrievers Waikato does not cover conditions that can typically be managed with routine veterinary care, such as hypoglycemia, coccidia, giardia, or other treatable issues.

Vet Check and Insurance

At Golden Retrievers Waikato, we trust our experienced veterinarians to provide thorough health checks and age-appropriate vaccinations for Parvo at each puppy’s 6-8 week appointment. Every puppy receives a detailed health examination, including a heart check and an age-appropriate wellness evaluation during their vet visit.

For your peace of mind, we encourage you to bring your puppy to your own vet within three days of bringing them home. If any health issues arise during your initial vet check or if your puppy becomes ill within the first five days, please contact us at Golden Retrievers Waikato immediately.

Please note that Golden Retrievers Waikato does not cover vet care costs after purchase, including any unauthorised veterinary bills, and we do not cover any vet bills during the stand-down period or for any exclusions that may apply to your puppy.

We are dedicated to raising healthy, happy puppies, all of whom receive comprehensive veterinary care before joining their new families.

Vets Bills

At Golden Retrievers Waikato, we want to clarify that we will not be responsible for any veterinary expenses incurred once your puppy has left our care. All future vaccinations, desexing, and general veterinary costs are the responsibility of the new owner. If your puppy shows signs of illness within the first five days of ownership (starting from the collection date), please contact us immediately to discuss the situation.

Please be aware that Golden Retrievers Waikato will only cover vet costs with prior approval. We will review any vet expenses on a case-by-case basis but do not guarantee payment for any costs incurred.

If you have any questions relating to any of the information provided please contact us.
